Material take off is a term used in construction, and refers to a list of materials with quantities and types that are required to build a designed structure or item. This list is generated by analysis of a blueprint or other design documents. They are developed by one of our quantity surveyors during the pre-construction phase. These measurements are used to format a bid on the scope of construction.
A bill of quantities (BOQ) is a document used in tendering in the construction industry / supplies in which materials, parts, and labor (and their costs) are itemized.
